The road to Horde 4
On Tuesday we released the first alpha version of Horde 4. This is the way to the final release.
We probably could have continued to work on Horde 4 forever, but decided that it's time to make a cut at some point. This point was decided to be last Tuesday, when we started the release cycle for Horde 4.
It was decided two months ago, and I'm extremely pleased that we hit the target precisely. Especially with our history of delayed releases in the past. That's what you get when doing OSS development in your free time only, but more on that later.
In January we not only decided when to start the release cycle, but also when to finish it and which steps to take until then. So here is the further release plan for Horde 4:
- March 15: BETA-1
- March 22: RC-1
- March 29: RC-1
- April 5: Final release of Horde 4. Yay! :-)
